Finally installed the B&M short shifter that's been sitting on my dining room table for a week. After trying a quick test at the 35% reduction setting, I flipped it down to a 50% throw reduction, and settled on that as my setting of choice. I can't believe how much faster I can shift with this thing; I suspect it will take a bit of getting used to, but I can already tell that it's going to be easier on the arm on extended in-town drives. I noticed that it seems to lean back a bit farther than the stock shifter, and it's just a touch lower than the old one, putting it in a much more natural location for my arm (purely subjective, but hey, it's my car, I get to decide when things are adjusted correctly). Only took about 20 minutes to swap the shifters, since I already had the console out for the bushing installation (yes, I've been driving around for a week with no center console; yes, it was annoying).
